Inspired by the playful worlds of television and film, families are invited to get creative with clay. After viewing a selection of imaginative clips, children and caregivers will sculpt their own small characters, props, or settings. Drawing from colorful sets, puppetry, animation, and fantastical storytelling, participants will explore how moving-image art can spark creativity and personal expression. This hands-on session encourages families to connect what they see on screen with the unique creations they bring to life in clay.

This Month's Movie: Peter and the Wolf 
Peter und der Wolf, 1973 
15 minutes, no dialogue

This puppet animation is based on Sergei Prokofiev’s beloved symphonic fairy tale for children, Peter and the Wolf. In the story, each character is represented by a different orchestral instrument, helping young listeners learn to recognize and distinguish the sounds of the orchestra. Prokofiev’s composition was a staple of music education in East German elementary schools.
