Kids + Family
The Crocker invites families to think of the Museum as a place to learn, play, and grow. Read on to learn more about our Kids + Family Programs.
Many Kids + Family programs at the Crocker Art Museum are made possible in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
Kids + Family Programs
Baby Loves Art engages babies (up to 18 months old) in a visually stimulating gallery walk and gives parents and caregivers a fun opportunity to connect with their babies and each other. All baby noises are expected and welcome. Strollers are allowed, and front carriers are recommended for the best art view. Please, no backpacks or rear carriers.
A fun story time and gallery adventure for children ages 3 to 5. Each week, children engage with different works of art through dialogue and interactions that encourage visual literacy, social-emotional development, creative confidence, and museum familiarity.
Amusing and educational, this tour is the perfect way to introduce art to children ages 5 and older and the adults who tag along with them. Come back every month for a totally new experience.
Children on the autism spectrum or with other developmental differences are invited to a special morning of artistic exploration. Starting before public hours, participate in music therapy and art activities. Structured support, drop-in programs, social narratives, noise-canceling headphones, and a quiet space all make this a wonderful and easy-going morning. Space is limited, and advanced registration is required.
Discover wonder and fun with the Crocker’s Summer Art Camps. Children ages 7 to 9 explore various mediums, themes, and activities at our in-person, week-long art camps. Campers connect through fun learning experiences, individual and collaborative art projects, and creative free time, all led by the Crocker‘s professional art educators.
Toddlers explore artmaking in new ways with different materials, from printmaking and color mixing to working with clay and fabric. Adults learn how to encourage experimentation and self expression while nurturing their child's creativity. Families are welcome to arrive any time during this drop-in program. Please dress for mess.
